An Uncertain Future Is Not A Valid Reason To Ruin A Present Full Of Opportunities

An uncertain future is not a valid reason to ruin a present full of opportunities

If your gaze is focused on your surroundings and not on the uncertain future, it means that you are focusing on the present. Only in this way will you be able to experience things that you would not otherwise experience. It is you who give yourself the opportunity to enhance what surrounds you, that is all that deserves to receive an immense “thank you”.

Everything is temporary. In our hands there is a life, LIFE. A finite time, in an endless and fertile space, full of different possibilities and opportunities. Life surrounds us with its enormity. It is there for us, waiting for us to wake up and support it strongly with our hands. Without doubting or hesitating.

We spend much of our existence wishing that probable situations would arise, that people change, that even we change. It is as if we entered a tunnel that prevents us from seeing what is around us, from noticing the light of our life and its nuances, its facets and its shadows.

Life doesn’t happen in the uncertain future

Life goes out of its way to be seen and heard. It wants to happen before your eyes, it wants to belong to you. But you are so busy planning uncertain futures, creating imaginary scenarios in your mind, predicting or preparing to experience upcoming disasters, that it ends up slipping out of your hands, like a trickle of water between your fingers.

How much time do you want to leave waiting for the person you want to arrive or for the wind to start blowing in the direction that is favorable to you to find the right path? You behave as if the only solution to your problems is to sit and wait, withdraw into another dimension, stay there without lifting a finger to explore your surroundings and value the things you already have.

So, you miss the opportunity to feed your five senses, to enjoy the little things, which are sometimes really big. Being present here and now, at this very moment, with every pore of your skin open is like accepting a passage towards life,  towards fun, but also towards calm and connection with yourself.

To exist means to focus our gaze on the present

We lose connection with ourselves when we curl up in fear of an uncertain future. Inert waiting makes us living dead, numb. We believe that our story can wait for chance, that capricious one, to give us what we believe we deserve.

We are perpetually disheartened, because we do not want to make the figure of the deluded. So, we are waiting for a future victory, but it is a risk, because postponing the present and its potential means condemning oneself to insensitivity. It means blindfolding and continuing to walk. And if we stumble, we blame life for its injustice.

When we focus our attention on what life “should give us” and not on what we could do, we invite helplessness and frustration to be permanent companions on our journey. When, on the other hand, we focus our existence on what we can get from life, on the exchange we can make with it, then the inner look changes.

The importance of living with the eyes of the soul wide open

When we have our eyes open and our souls ready to peek through those cracks, we see what we otherwise could not see. We are able to perceive nuances that would go unnoticed if the eyes of our essence remained closed. And that’s when we become able to enjoy life.

We are not talking about great events with repercussions that would affect everyone, we are referring to something much more intimate and sensorial: to feed our essence with the daily routine of life and being alive. To learn from nature and all its elements, which are offered to us by it with so much generosity.

Search for the meaning of your life and savor your existence. Do not let it escape you, for life has a limited duration and with every passing second it tries to connect with your awakening.
